RC Definitely Not “Flavor of Month” — Stats to Prove It

Here at RC Central, we are most proud of RC’s sustainability within agencies. We believe trauma-informed culture change is hard. Sustaining it can be harder. Therefore, agencies have to keep working at it FOR YEARS.

We recently did some calculations. Here’s what we found:

  1. As of July 2014, 45 agencies/programs adopted RC. 42 of those 45 are still open.
  2. Of those 42 agencies, 32 agencies (76%)  still use RC.
  3. Of those 32 agencies…
    • 26 agencies have been using RC for 3 years or more (81%)
    • 12 agencies have been using RC for 7 years or more (38%)
    • 5 agencies using RC for 9 years or more (16%)

Many training programs come and go in the life of an agency. RC often stays and gets permanently woven into the fabric of the system.

    • Risking Connection Training

Risking Connection™(RC) is a foundational trauma training curriculum and training program for professionals who work with trauma survivors. Rooted in relational and attachment theory, it provides a mechanism for individuals and organizations to implement trauma-informed care in their practice.

    • Restorative Approach Training

The Restorative Approach® (RA) is a trauma-informed alternative to traditional "point and level" systems for child congregate care settings. Based on the principles of restorative justice, it translates what we know about trauma and how children heal into specific treatment strategies.
