The Traumatic Stress Institute fosters the transformation of organizations and service systems to trauma-informed care (TIC) through the delivery of whole-system consultation, professional training, coaching, and research.

Program Evaluation and Online Dashboard

TSI regards rigorous program evaluation as critical to the implementation process. Collecting data, tracking data, and making data-based decisions drive the change process. Program evaluation also enables organizations to demonstrate measurable success to funders and other stakeholders now that more and more are mandating organizations be trauma-informed.
TSI is an international leader in TIC assessment having developed the Attitudes Related to Trauma-Informed Care (ARTIC) Scale, one the only psychometric measures of TIC currently available.
During the Program Evaluation, TSI collects data on two measures  — a staff knowledge tool and the ARTIC (staff attitude) Scale — at three time points. They also help organizations track selected outcome metrics such as voluntary discharge or restraints to determine the impact of the TIC change initiative.
All the data is then displayed on an online dashboard, individually tailored for each organization. Organizations get access to their aggregate data findings on their organization’s dashboard. Staff get results on individual confidential dashboards.
